The "Talk Politics" toolkit was designed to promote constructive political discussions by addressing divisive terms like false dichotomy, binary thinking, factionalism, and whataboutism. Featuring color-coded cards, abstract designs, and a focus on inclusivity, it fosters dialogue and understanding. The brainstorming phase explored themes of connection, collaboration, and bridging divides.
The playing cards in the “Talk Politics” toolkit enhance its overall design, linking the interior and exterior graphics with abstract, inviting shapes. The toolkit’s visual identity is reinforced through circular and rectangular forms, symbolizing dialogue and different perspectives. The back cards are color-coded into categories—Definition, Visualization, Scenario, and Scenario Questions—facilitating easy identification and structured conversation. The front cards feature abstract designs reflecting inclusivity and neutrality, with each card representing a political concept, fostering open, unbiased, and constructive discussions.
The “Talk Politics” toolkit box design evolved from a simple, functional layout focusing on compartments and organization to a more visually appealing final render. The dimensions are 190.93 x 139.70 x 48.35 mm. The final design includes colorful, abstract shapes that reflect the themes of inclusivity and neutrality. A 0.8 mm tolerance is incorporated to ensure proper fitting during manufacturing, maintaining the box’s structural integrity and smooth assembly.

REFLECTION:
This project really opened my eyes to how design can go beyond just making things look good, it can actually influence how people think and communicate. Working with the team helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect. I learned to adapt to different work styles, whether it was late-night ideas or early morning focus, and realized the importance of ensuring everyone’s voice was heard. The design process itself was a journey of discovery. Choosing colors and shapes that represented complex political conversations made me think about how visuals can create space for deeper dialogue. It was rewarding to see how the toolkit could be both practical and meaningful, sparking conversations that I hope will help bridge divides and foster understanding.
