This course has been a valuable learning experience, allowing me to develop my design skills while exploring the emotional depth of visual communication. The Oudyssey conference branding and the Furiouser & Spuriouser album cover projects helped me understand how to convey complex ideas, like culture, history, and music, through design. The Oudyssey project taught me how to build a cohesive visual identity, while the album cover project challenged me to interpret the emotional tone of music through visuals.
One of the highlights of the course was presenting the Furiouser & Spuriouser album cover to Jason Noble. Meeting him was an incredibly insightful experience that deepened my understanding of how design can complement and enhance music, helping to convey its emotional nuances.
Another standout moment was visiting the Pioneer Press and having the opportunity to meet Ron before his retirement—an experience that offered a valuable glimpse into the world of professional print production. And of course, I can’t forget the Valentine's cookies Professor Judy made; always making the studio feel like a creative family.
I’m especially grateful to my wonderful professor, Judy Armstrong, it's been a true pleasure to learn from her over the years, and to our TA, Hadis. Their feedback, guidance, and unwavering support were invaluable throughout the course. They challenged me to refine my design process and think more critically about how I approach each project.
This course has been instrumental in my growth as a designer, and I’m excited to carry these lessons with me into the future.
